A solo arrangement for mountain dulcimer of the Christian hymn written by Daniel Schutte, and American composer of Catholic liturgical music. The words are based on Isaiah 6:8 and 1 Samuel 3. The hymn is now found in numerous Protestant hymnals and was voted the United Kingdom’s 10th favorite hymn in 2019. In a 2004 poll conducted by the National Association of Pastoral Musicians, it came in 2nd for “songs that make a difference.”
The arrangement is in the key of G and will require a 1.5 fret. It is appropriate for the upper intermediate level player who is familiar with the chord-melody style of playing and is comfortable playing in an arpeggiated fashion across the fretboard. The tab download also includes an audio reference track.
