A solo arrangement for mountain dulcimer of the devotional hymn written by Michael Joncas in the late 70’s, which has become popular in many denominations, Catholic and Protestant alike. It was performed at many funerals of September 11 victims as well as for Luciano Pavarotti’s funeral mass in 2007. Its words are based on Psalm 91, Exodus 19, and Matthew 13.
The arrangement is in the key of G and will require a 1.5 fret. It is appropriate for the upper intermediate level player who is familiar with the chord-melody style of playing and is comfortable playing in an arpeggiated fashion across the fretboard. The tab download also includes an audio reference track.
