Learn to Play "Ma'oz Tzur" - a classic Hanukkah song

Your living space!

Wednesday, Dec 6, 7:30 EDT ā€“ Join me the night before Hanukkah starts in learning to play "Ma'oz Tzur,ā€ a traditional and timeless Hebrew hymn about the Maccabee's fight for freedom. It is a well-known Hanukkah song, which is sung after lighting the festival lights. The text is a liturgical poem composed in the 13th century around the time of the Crusades. It summarizes the challenges through history that the Jewish people have faced yet have overcome with God's help. The Hebrew lyric as well as the English translation is included on the tab.

I encourage you to check out this beautiful recent vocal recording which can be found on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MRS5c7TbJw

This mountain dulcimer arrangement is appropriate for the early intermediate level player who is familiar with the chord-melody style of playing and is comfortable playing in an arpeggiated fashion across the fretboard and has a working knowledge of chord shapes. We will be in DAD tuning.

Due to copyright restrictions, participants must first purchase an authorized copy of the tab from our Sheet Music Plus page: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/maoz-tzur-digital-sheet-music/21903165?aff_id=736549
