Your living space!

Thursday, November 30, 2023, 7:30 Eastern – The Basque folk carol was originally based on a 13th century Latin carol that was then paraphrased into English by someone who spent winter as a boy in the Basque country between France & Spain. The tune is called “Gabriel’s Message” or “The angel Gabriel from heaven came.” The text quotes the biblical account of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary by the archangel Gabriel and includes Mary’s Magnificat. Sting did a cover of it on his “A Very Special Christmas” album, which was released in 1987 as a benefit for the Special Olympics.

The class will offer a trio arrangement of the song for a standard, baritone, and bass and is appropriate for the intermediate to advanced level mountain dulcimer player. The 1.5 fret will be required on the baritone and bass.

After you register, your email receipt will contain the Zoom link for the class. Simply click on that link a little before the appointed time for class.
