Learn to play "Blue Christmas" by Elvis!

Your living space!

Thursday, Dec 3, 7:30 EDT – ♫”I’ll-a have-ave a Blue…….” You know exactly the singer, don’t you?! Elvis made this a rock-n-roll holiday classic after including it on his 1957 Christmas Album.

The mountain dulcimer arrangement is in the key of G and appropriate for the intermediate level player who is familiar with the chord-melody style of playing, comfortable playing in an arpeggiated fashion across the fretboard, and who has a working knowledge of chord shapes. A 1+ fret is desirable but optional.

BONUS: In addition to receiving instruction on the solo arrangement, participants will also receive instruction for a bass dulcimer walking part as well as a harmony part (which will include the iconic Jordanaires harmony from the record!) for a second standard dulcimer effectively turning the arrangement into a trio! These additional tabs will be sent by email a day or so prior to the start of the class along with audio recordings to facilitate your practice.

Due to copyright restrictions, participants must first purchase an authorized copy of the solo tab from our Sheet Music Plus page: https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/blue-christmas-digital-sheet-music/20595280?narrow_by=blue+christmas

After your purchase, just forward your email receipt to elainekconger@gmail.com before registering for the class.

No, I cannot sell you the tab directly without breaking the copyright law and our contract agreement with Sheet Music Plus who licenses the song and distributes the royalty fees to the composers and publishers. We as arrangers only receive a 10% commission of your purchase price.

The event will take place online using Zoom, the free video conferencing platform. You will need a computer, iPad or smartphone equipped with a camera and microphone in order to attend the class. After you register, your email receipt will contain the Zoom link for the class. Simply click on that link a little before the appointed time in order to have a Blue Christmas with Elvis!
