Learn to play "Hallelujah" on the mountain dulcimer

Your living space!

This song written and recorded in 1984 by the late Canadian singer/songwriter, Leonard Cohen, has become a new classic in films, TV soundtracks and talent contests in addition to being covered by many other artists. It's newfound popularity is thanks to it being used in the 2001 film "Shrek" and on American Idol in 2008.

The arrangement is appropriate for the advancing intermediate player with knowledge of chord shapes, 3-finger chords, and picking across the strings in an arpeggiated fashion. The song is in 12/8 time signature and in the key of G; therefore, a 1+ fret is required. Participants will receive a practice recording.
